TIME TRAVEL

From time unknown, it has been a curious topic for the whole world that " Is time travel possible?" Now this question is unanswered till now but I am sure that if you will read this whole article then you will get to know about every aspect of it. I will try to cover everything about time travel including the concepts of time travel shown in many of our known TV shows, movies and online series and I will also try to include some time travel incidents as well, to make it more spicy and informative.

Time travel means travelling in time from one time to another. In other words, time travel is a word used for travelling, not from one place to another, but from one time period to another.

For example: let us assume that I travel to 2030 for escaping this pandemic, which I am sure most of us will want to, then I will be considered as a time traveler who skipped ten years and jumped directly into 2030 after 2020.

Now, it is not easy certainly because of the various paradoxes which will interrupt our travel to the past, so scientists assumed that only future travel is possible. I personally don't feel so but there is no proof of it either.

See past travel has various possibilities like we could destroy our own existence or we could create a total mess by changing the whole history which will not be the same as we know it. This has many side effects that is why scientists considered it to be not possible but this not, might not remain.

Now lets talk about some of the shows which have time travel in it, specifically I will try to explain time travel of AVENGERS:ENDGAME , SHREE (HINDI MOVIE), DARK (NETFLIX SHOW) and our most favorite show DORAEMON. So lets begin:

TIME TRAVEL OF AVENGERS: ENDGAME OR AVENGERS 4

The above film is the highest grossing film of all time, beating AVATAR and TITANIC (which bagged 11 oscars). We all know this film because of its popularity and till now we all have seen it so there is nothing like a spoiler.

Now in this film, as we know, in order to beat THANOS, the Avengers actually travel back through time to various years in order to collect all the infinity stones, to bring half of the universe's population back to life. This happens because of SCOTT LANG, who actually stayed in quantum realm for about 5 years, which were only 5 hours for him. 

Here the Avengers go back through time, come back and save the world for the last time. But this ain't that much simple, the ancient one explains to Bruce Banor or Hulk that even a tiny change will create a new reality, which will not affect the current reality. This here means that a tiny change will create a parallel universe and we all know that a handful of changes have been made to the timeline because of Captain's stay with Peggy, death of Thanos of 2014 (which will now, not cause the scenarios in 2020), freedom of Red Skull from the curse of teseract (which, according to me, will be the main villain of BLACK WIDOW movie, as he is the only bad guy alive who has super soldier serum injected and can copy the actions of Captain America which makes him a perfect character for TASKMASTER), Loki's escape, Captain's confession to the Captain of 2012 that BUCKY is alive and I think no more big changes are left. 

The above account of time travel of ENDGAME has 2 main postulates:

(1)  Any change in the past can create a whole new world with different series of events.

(2)  Changes in past can affect the future and change it as well.

Now, following the first postulate we have a lot of alternate universes which are about to be get created in MCU, whereas, by following the second postulate, it means what the following phrase says: PAST AFFECTS THE FUTURE. The second postulate is very easy to understand  but the first one is damn difficult because a lot of possibilities are there and this is my interpretation of ENDGAME. 

I know that all of the MCU is fiction but it is related to the scientific version of time travel and what we can see is very easy to imagine. Moreover travel through QUANTUM REALM is related to QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT which is a law of quantum physics.

TIME TRAVEL OF DORAEMON

The above image is of INDIA's most favorite cartoon DORAEMON and it has a special place in our hearts. Well story is very simple, there is a guy named NOBITA NOBI who is not good at anything, but one day his life takes a turn when DORAEMON enters in it from the future. From then, NOBITA's life becomes adventurous but it is also about the bond between DORAEMON and NOBITA and also about SHIZUKA who is the love interest of NOBITA. Moreover, there are two more main characters, they are GIAN and SUNEO who are very notorious, they always mess with NOBITA, but at times when NOBITA needs them the most they are always there to help. SUNEO is mamma's boy, whereas, GIAN is very daring.

Well telling their stories is not the main motto of this post, hence, lets talk about time travel. In this show, time travel works in the way that past events can't be changed, if you try to do so then you actually trigger what has happened. However, it has a drawback as actually DORAEMON comes from the future to the past and he shows NOBITA  a photo where he clearly gets married to GIAN's sister JAIKO but after the advent of DORAEMON this reality gets changed as NOBITA gets married to SHIZUKA. So, this makes the concept of time travel of this show a bit changed. Only at this point in this show there is irregularity in time travel.

Whereas everytime NOBITA travels back through time, to do something then he actually acts as the inducer of the past events and the reality remains the same. 

So at this point I feel they screwed up.

TIME TRAVEL OF DARK (NETFLIX SHOW)

This show is a masterpiece, here one can easily look at the possibilities when multiverse, time travel, paradoxes and black holes, all exist in the same frame. Lets talk about time travel of this show:

The time travel of this show, shows an infinite loop which is very hard to break. Every time one travels through time nothing new happens, except once and after that this loop ends forever. It has following postulates:

(1) Time travel works in a loop.

(2) One can easily change the events by traveling to the past.

Actually I don't want to provide spoilers for this show because its third and last season is currently streaming on netflix. This show is an extreme joy to watch and I request all of the readers of this post to watch this show. At last I would like to say "sic mundus creatus est".

    TIME TRAVEL OF SHREE (INDIAN MOVIE)

Shree is a 2013 science fiction film which has another view of time travel. In this film, the view of time travel is time also revolves around the Earth in the form of an invisible belt and everytime a disaster such as tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruption etc hits the Earth, the belt breaks and this has caused the Earth to actually elapse a fraction of time. 

The people who are born during that time are capable of time travel because they were born during the course of a time glitch. But they can time travel only at that places where such an incident has happened.

THE MAIN MOTTO BEHIND TELLING YOU THESE STORIES WAS JUST TO MAKE YOU ALL AWARE OF THE DIFFERENT POSSIBILITIES OF TIME TRAVEL AND BY WATCHING ALL OF THESE YOU CAN GET A CLEAR CUT PICTURE OF WHAT I WANT TO CONVEY YOU, IF YOU DO NOT GET AN IDEA BY MY EXPLANATION.  

PARADOXES

Well the literal meaning of a paradox is A SITUATION WITH TWO OR MORE PARTS THAT SEEM STRANGE OR IMPOSSIBLE TOGETHER.

Time or temporal paradoxes are the most weird paradoxes because they actually are absurd. But they can be true because somewhere they are logical as well. In this section, we will talk about some of these paradoxes:

(1) CAUSAL LOOP OR BOOTS-TRAP PARADOX:

Boots-Trap paradox says that the origin of an object becomes uncertain when it travels through time to its inventor, before it was invented, the inventor gets an idea and he or she invents the same thing. Basically, it says that an object is in present day because it was invented but when it was not invented then also it was there with the inventor, and because it reached to the inventor before it was invented, it got invented.

(2) GRANDFATHER PARADOX:

This paradox says that if you travel back through time and reach to your past, when your father was not born. Then you accidentally kill your grandfather, then there is no way your father might have been born and hence there is no way you might have been born. Therefore, you do not exist, which contradicts the fact that you exist and you killed your grandfather.

(3) HITLER'S PARADOX:

HITLER'S PARADOX is a special case of  grandfather paradox but it does not contradict your existence. It says that suppose you are a time traveler and you travel to the past before, Hitler's era. Now, suppose you went there with a motive that you will kill Hitler so that WW2 does not take place in the future and you succeed in executing Hitler. Now, WW2 will not happen, as the reason is no more alive, but now there will be no reason for you to travel to the past, so why will you travel back? This contradicts the fact that you have actually traveled to the past. So technically, you will not travel back but you will also so that you do not leave any reason for you to travel back.

(4) FERMI PARADOX:

Fermi paradox says that if time travel is possible then where are the travelers from the future. It means that if time travel is possible then someone should have traveled back from the future to our era, but we aren't aware of any such person. So where are the people from the future, is time travel possible?

(5) THE WORMHOLE BILLIARD BALL PARADOX:

This paradox is a whole new version of the grandfather paradox. It says that suppose you are playing billiard and suddenly you hit the ball in the wormhole, now this ball travels back through time and enter in that time when it was about to enter the wormhole. But because the former hits the latter, so the result is that ball does not enter the wormhole. Now this contradicts the fact that the ball has actually traveled through time and this paradox section ends here.

INSTANCES FROM REAL LIFE

(1) THE MAN FROM TAURED:

                                     

This is a real life incident, as it is under this section. This strange incident took place at the Tokyo International Airport in 1954. A man arrived there and said that he was from  a country named as Taured and as we know that there is no country by such name in our world. The incident became more creepy when the authorities went through his passport and it was actually a legitimate passport with the seal of the nation. Here is an image of the passport of the man:

Later on this man was taken under custody for further probe, however, that man mysteriously vanished and hence this incident ended.

There are chances that this man was from another time period and due to some unknown reasons his timeline coincided with ours and he entered our realm. However, this incident is more likely a case of parallel universe rather than time travel for me. As the time period mentioned in it, is the same as ours.

(2) PAN AMERICAN FLIGHT 914:

The PAN AM 914  took off from  New York City airport for Miami on 2 July , 1955. It had 57 passengers and 6 crew members onboard. It was just a 3 hour trip, however, this flight never landed. It vanished from the radar, after several minutes of taking off. As there was no report of plane crash anywhere near Miami, the reason was never uncovered and soon the probe stopped. On March 3, 1992 in Venezuela, a strange thing happened, a flight suddenly appeared on the radar from nowhere, claiming to be PAN AM 914 and was asking permission to land. As it landed , due to some reason it again took off leaving a calendar of 1955 thrown away by the pilot. And it was the last time it was seen. 

The series JL 50 is a loose imitation of this incident according to me. However, it might not be true as well. 

Another flight having a similar fate as 914 is the Malaysian flight 370. It took off on 8 March, 2014 from Malaysia International Airport to Beijing. However, this flight never arrived. This flight lost its course and appeared on the radar of Indian Navy for about 2 hours and then it moved towards the Indian Ocean. A possible theory is that it crashed into the Indian Ocean. However, unlike the PAN AM 914 it has not shown up arbitrarily anywhere. 

(3) D B COOPER:

This is one of the most famous incident in the history of America. This man known as DB Cooper is known to hijack Boeing 727, between Portland and Seattle, on the afternoon of  November 24, 1971. At the Seattle-Tacoma Airport, he took $200k in ransom and four parachutes and then he leapt to Southwestern Washington to an uncertain fate. He had purchased the ticket as Dan Cooper, however, due to miscommunication he became famous as DB Cooper. Despite of a 45-year long probe by the FBI the fate is still uncertain.

A theory is that he did not survive this jump, but the possibility of him being a time traveler is as relevant as any other theory.

(4) THE UNIDENTIFIED DECEDENTS:

This is an American term used for those corpses that do not have their own identity and literally there have been over 40,000 such corpses. 

Don't you think it is too odd that no one recognizes a dead body. I meant that even if they were orphans then also there should be some information that at least an orphanage can provide. Now taking it to the topic , there is a possibility that they were all time travelers from the future or the past that for some reason died in this world and since they were not even born in this time, hence, no one could indentify them.
